Animation of Mars, nearing 2020 opposition (Planet size: 22.5 arcseconds, altitude ~60°). Taken in Cabri, Israel, 02-03.10.2020, ~01:00 (UTC+3). Telescope: VX12 300mm f/4 Newtonian, AZ-EQ6 mount in Equatorial mode, 3.5x siebert barlow, ZWO ADC, ASI290MC camera, Baader UV-IR cut, stack of ~1500/5000 (x 150 frames for animation, x30 frames for single image). Processing in Autostakkert, Registax 6 (wavelets), AstraImage, Photoshop, WinJupos. Scale 150%.
The white dot at bottom is the southern polar ice cap, blue regions at left and top are clouds. A mountain at top-right is "Elysium" region (14km high)
